For Jacob Elordi, making his “SNL” debut will be more of a downhill battle.
The “Saltburn” star teased his upcoming appearance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” in a promo released Wednesday. The actor will host Saturday’s episode, while pop singer and “Mean Girls” star Reneé Rapp serves as the sketch comedy series' musical guest.
In the promo, a hesitant Elordi is seen standing at the top of the stairs inside Studio 8H. Concerned “SNL” cast members Punkie Johnson and Marcello Hernández ask the “Euphoria” actor if he’s OK while flashbacks of past “SNL” hosts walking down the stairs race through Elordi’s mind.
“They all make it look so easy,” Elordi says as he looks down at the steps.
Johnson and Hernández proceed to help Elordi tackle the challenge, to varying degrees of awkward success. Elordi slides down the stairs on his side, crawls down the steps, and at one point, scoots down the small flight of stairs step by step.
“I got this,” a confident Elordi says as he prepares to practice his entrance.
However, Elordi may need a little more rehearsal before showtime. The “Priscalla” actor tripped at the top of the stairs and face-planted on the floor. Johnson and Hernández scurried away after the tumble.
“I’m good,” Elordi says as he lifts his head off the floor.
The teaser’s self-deprecating humor resonated with fans on social media, who expressed excitement for Elordi’s hosting gig.
“I need Jacob Elordi, neither sexually or romantically, but as a codependent coworker who keeps me sane and gossips (with) me,” X user @bristianchale wrote.
